Manager, Information Architect
May manage and provide guidance on User Experience best practices at
the project level. Innovates through solutions to support project
team, and/or department objectives, and recognizes implications across
project portfolio. Creates standard information architecture
documentation. Defines competitive landscape, establishes benchmarks
for and conducts competitive assessments. Defines content
organization, nomenclature and navigation systems for web sites to
maximize user experience and overall site effectiveness. For

Search & Reservations Subject Matter Expert
Directs the development of global online transactional systems with
integration of various databases for high volume/high traffic
ecommerce websites. Defines, advocates and applies best transactional
and user experience practices from travel industry (hotel and
aggregator websites) to Marriott.com system and development process.
Learns and understands legacy database systems and their implications
on proposed solutions. Develops a deep understanding of Marriott sales
strategy for lodging and other products. Gathers a deep understanding
of globalization translation processes and dependencies. Directs and
sets strategy for applying the transaction components and best
practices to a variety of other corporate systems. Builds
relationships outside of eCommerce as inputs to direct the User
Experience Search & Reservations product vision across all projects
within that program.
User Experience Lead
Defines, directs, and manages project vision and maintains the vision
across all assigned projects to support team, department and company
objectives. Directs innovations, provides solutions, and recognizes
implications across project portfolio. Provides strong creative
leadership to project stakeholders and project teams in order to
create best-in-class solutions. Coordinates with Program Area Lead to
insure consistency of program vision is met on all projects. Oversees
and directs other discipline documentation to meet the project goals
and fit the project user experience vision. Defines standards and
reviews project deliverables to insure quality.
Information Architecture - Cross-Discipline Subject Matter Expert
Directs and contributes highly specialized knowledge and skill in the
IA discipline, working with Director of IA to set vision for the IA
discipline. Establishes IA standards particular to the Search &
Reservations program and builds informed strategic thinking and
knowledge sharing that guides the direction of User Experience. Has
and continues to develop general knowledge of other disciplines
including User Research, Interface Design, Content Strategy and
Content Management. Directs and develops related operating plans and
related operational process of programs teams and other disciplines
within UE and eBusiness.
