Information Architect
Innovates through solutions to support project team, and/or department
objectives, and recognizes implications within the project. Creates
standard information architecture documentation. Defines content
organization, nomenclature and navigation systems for web sites to
maximize user experience and overall site effectiveness. For

Expected Contributions
* Contributes specialized knowledge and skill in the IA discipline
* Executes IA tasks for projects under supervision, following
well-established IA and User Experience guidelines
* Gather user requirements
* Conduct task analyses
* Conduct heuristic evaluations
* Work with cross-functional teams throughout the development process
* Creates IA deliverables including site maps, process flows, page
flows, use cases, functional specifications, wireframes and related
documentation
* Define content organization, nomenclature and navigation systems
* May assist UR in usability research and testing
* Conducts heuristic evaluations with some guidance
* Write position papers on user ?focused web, research, and industry trends

* Some knowledge in current User Experience and/or IA theory and research

* Ability to support the organization of large amounts of complex
information into intuitive site maps and navigation systems
* Ability to learn, to understand and balance user, business, and
technical needs at the project level
* Ability to understand business objectives at the project level
* Some experience or understanding of usability testing and research skills
* Ability to effectively manage multiple activities in a dynamic environment
* Understanding of Internet product development life cycles
* Some understanding of user experience modeling and human factors testing
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Experience with Internet development process, user-centered design
principles and prototyping
* Knowledge of HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, interface design, CMS
* Has knowledge of, and/or experience with any or some of the
following: Information Architecture, Library Sciences, Human Factors
Psychology, Interaction or Visual Design, User Research, Interface
Development, Content Management, Appilcations Development, Writing,
Marketing
* Strong team orientation
Education/Experience
* Demonstrated knowledge of user-centered design principles and practices
* Experience in the Internet field, developing large-scale
transactional sites
* Extensive experience with rapid prototyping tools (e.g., Visio,
Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, MS Office, etc.)
* Bachelor's degree preferred in Liberal Arts fields, Human Factors
Psychology, Instructional Design, Library Sciences, or 3+ years
experience in related field
